My Very First....

Hello everyone. As mentioned on Facebook earlier today, instead of writing out a post this time, I did my first video blog. I was really anxious about it & I never even used my webcam until a week ago. (my computer is a year old) Let me know if you liked it & if you have any tips if I choose to do a second VLOG. For some of you, this will be your first time "seeing" me or hearing my voice so I am curious if I match up to what you were expecting. LOL

Recipe websites that I love.....

brandi wilson (pete wilson's wife) has a recipe for THE BEST chicken pot pie.
brandiandboys.com.... I'm not sure of the actual post that the recipe is in (she posted it for Christmas last year)...but if you google Brandi and Boys chicken pot pie my gift to you .... or something similar to that, it should bring it up.
    It is SO stinking good!

  2. I loved this vlog!!!! It was so great to see you doing this and you seemed so natural at it too. I also love the idea of doing with weekly recipe and especially if we can keep it cheap and good that is something I know I am always looking for. I don't have a recipe so i am looking forward to seeing what other people might have. This is going to be so much fun. Thanks for posting! Have a great weekend.

First of all, LOVED the Vlog! :o) I always make the Classic Chicken Pot Pie from Pilsbury.com and it is AMAZING! Please try it, it is so good and in expensive! You can get pie crust for about $2, flour (you probably have), soup broth is around $2 to $3, but you can use that 2 x on this recipe to make a couple, frozen veggies are VERY INEXPENSIVE @ about .60/bag at Walmart. Then of course you can add chicken or turkey...also inexpensive and again you can make larger batches to double up! Hope this helps! I absolutely love it and my kids go crazy for it.

  7. This is the recipe I base my chicken pot pie off of. I do however make some changes to it. Here's the link http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/chicken-pot-pie-recipe/index.html

Instead of using the individual dishes I actually do mine in a 9X13" dish and it works out great. I also don't use the fresh carrots, peas and pearl onions she mentions, I just use a bag of frozen mixed veggies. And for the crust I just use a store bought pie crust. It makes it much easier and affordable. This dish would also work to be frozen and used for a quick weeknight meal. Just cool the filling first before adding the pie crust then freeze. Looking forward to seeing what other ideas and recipes are posted.

You are beautiful by the way! Happy 4th of July! Enjoy your time off! :-)

  8. Hi Aimee,
I loved your VLog and it was great to finally see and hear you! I am looking forward to more video blogs from you, and for the weekly recipe. I am 28 years old, and a mother to a 16 month old. I also care for my grandma who has Alzheimer's. I cook for my whole family 6 nights a week (after coming home from a full day at work). Needless to say something fairly quick is exactly what i look for. I found this recipe about a year ago and my whole family love it. I take out the hard boiled eggs in the recipe (not sure why you would put those in a pot pie..but each to their own). Check it out..and Happy Cooking!
